UPDATE: Both my vendor application and Whittier Business Licenses have been processed, so I am all set to exhibit at this pre-Thanksgiving weekend show for the first time. Looking back at another convention I did the weekend before Turkey Day (Long Beach Comic Con 2013) that turned out very well in both show attendance and book sales for me, I am very curious to see how this event turns out.

I make my return as a guest to this fantastic podcast series hosted by talented friends Barbra and Bryant Dillon of Fanbase Press. Find out what comic, sci-fi, or horror topics myself and the hosts will be discussing when the show posts live the next day on the 23rd of October.

UPDATE: I have now been confirmed as an artist vendor at this event. At the request of the promoter, who also had a table at the Cosmic Comic Fest last month, I will be bringing back my Figure-Of-Speech Mongoose comic strip collections (limited 15 copies).

This event was formerly known as Monterey Park Geranium and Art Festival, where I exhibited at from 2016-2019. This new version appears to be more of a general festival with games, music, food, and vendors. I am in the process of securing my outdoor vendor spot this week. More details to come!

This is a new show for me, that I nearly forgot I applied to a few months earlier. It will be a free table, as the event promoter is only asking for an art donation from me. Taking place at an Art center in San Bernardino, I am curious to see who and how many folks in the area turn out to attend the show. As always, more details to come!

This is my first time putting together an indie creator event. With help from the shop event coordinator who suggested a part roundtable discussion, part in-store signing, I was able to contact the right creators from my large pool of Artist Alley friends from past conventions. I am very much looking forward to how this turns out.

I was recently chosen to be the latest artist guest on this Facebook video show, hosted by popular and talented artist Mog Park. I will be doing live sketches, discussing my series “Damn Tourists,” and much more. This can be viewed through Streamyard via Facebook at 7 pm pacific time.

The second outdoor festival I recently heard of. Despite the name, all types of art and comics will be presented at this show, held in the parking lot of Dreamworld Comics in Culver City, the site of a former gas station. This will also be the very first show that I will be exhibiting at on my birthday.

This one is confirmed as of a Facebook chat this week. My third comic shop signing this year, and my very first time at Nostalgic Comic Shop, run by the awesome Peter Mellini. Mr. Mellini was also the promoter of the East LA CAPE (Comic Arts and Pop culture Expo) back in 2017, which is how I met him. Should be another great experience much like Comic Bug and Hi De Ho Comics. Stay tuned!

One of two outdoor art festivals that I just recently heard about. Located in El Sereno, this event is described as a classic artwalk where the vendors bring their own materials, including tables and chairs along with their merchandise and signage. More information will be announced once the vendor space payment process is sent out and completed.

My participation in this event is not confirmed at this time, but the opportunity was extended to me through an email earlier this week. The show promoter who reached out to me was one of my customers at last year’s Reseda Summer Art Fest, so it’s a great connection to start. I will provide more information once I receive it as well.

This free local convention returns for the first time since 2019! I will have at least one of my comic series at this show, but I haven't decided which one yet.

It’s the first of two comic shop signings for me! I haven’t done one since 2015 at Pulp Fiction Comics in Culver City, and the former Meltdown Comics in Hollywood. I will have my six-issue Damn Tourists series on hand, as well as my original comic book art portfolio for viewing. If you work near the area, swing by either during your lunch break, or if you get off work before 5 p.m.

My first show of 2023! This small local event, starting back in February 2020, returned back in July 2021, but the Co-Vid delta strain surge kept me away for another two years. It will be interesting to see how the crowd is with the different ways large and small-scale events have returned the past year or so.

My first podcast appearance of 2021! This crazy, topsy-turvy time continues over from 2020 with still no conventions (though that may change later this year and into 2022), so I continue to keep my name and work out there with promotional opportunities such as this one, thanks to my friends Barbra and Bryant Dillon of comics publisher Fanbase Press.

Ah, this is the pandemic life. Well, it’s not ideal, but with conventions, artwalks, and comic shop signings a no-go right now, Online interviews and timelapse art will have to tide me over for now when it comes to anything coming close to the social interaction for comic book conventions. As always, I’ll post this on social media and this website when the interview is completed and recorded.
